COMMITMENT

Château de Brégançon

1. CRU CLASSE

The history of the Crus Classés des Côtes de Provence began in 1895, when a number of ‘Propriétaires Vignerons du Var’ realised the importance of joining forces to defend and promote their wines and estates. In 1947, under the impetus of these determined men and women, a committee of experts selected 23 of these estates in Provence, under the supervision of the INAO, based on a rigorous study of their terroir, their know-how and their reputation. As a result, just like the most prestigious wine-producing regions of Bordeaux, these estates and Châteaux in Provence have been awarded the title of “Cru Classé”.
This decision has been officially recognised by the Côtes de Provence appellation. The Cru Classés Charter gives priority to production in all three colours and a respected balance in the blends. The winegrowers, who have preserved this ‘title of nobility’, wish to highlight the ethical values shared by the Cru Classés, with the objectives of sustainable progress and the desire to perpetuate traditions. Today, the story continues and 18 estates and châteaux are united in affirming and conveying their ‘Cru Classé’ identity.

2. ORGANIC FARMING

Brégançon has succeeded in introducing traditional growing methods, making its wines part of a sustainable and committed approach in Provence. The château produces wines according to the rules of organic viticulture, respecting traditions and the land, and using 100% natural products. At every stage of the winemaking process, the absence of aggressive treatments enhances the vineyard’s biodiversity and natural defences. The techniques we use are based on two essential principles: respect for the vine and respect for the consumer. We invite you to discover our rosé, white and red vintages, 100% organic and HVE 3 harvested wines. Authentic organic wines produced in Provence on an estate that is also HVE 3 certified. The estate has been certified by ECOCERT since 2017 as ‘products in conversion to organic farming certified by FR-BIO-01’ and now, since our harvest in 2020, with the ‘VIN BIO’ label.

3. CULTURAL SPONSORSHIP

Brégançon’s commitment to culture is rooted in a deep-rooted family tradition. The Tezenas family has always cultivated a sincere taste for art in all its forms: painting, literature, music, crafts… A passion passed down from generation to generation, driven by a genuine attachment to creative gestures, materials, works of art and the people who bring them to life. True to this heritage, Brégançon is committed to supporting the Toulon Opera, an emblematic institution that embodies the excellence of the performing arts, as well as the Hyères Book Festival, which we have been supporting for three years, to promote literature and encourage encounters between authors and readers. We are also honoured to be part of Alfred’s Circle (https://www.alfredsommier.com/fr/alfreds-circle.html), alongside prestigious French châteaux, thanks to our partnership with the Hôtel Alfred Sommier in Paris. This exclusive circle highlights exceptional houses that share the same values of elegance, high standards and transmission. Through these partnerships, we are asserting a strong conviction: culture and the promotion of French heritage are levers for sharing, beauty and collective inspiration.

4. ASSOCIATIVE COMMITMENT

At Brégançon, our commitment is not limited to culture: it also extends to active support for human, educational and charitable causes. True to our values of sharing, mutual aid and social responsibility, for several years we have been supporting associations with a variety of missions, all of which are meaningful. In particular, we support Roue Libre, which helps people in difficulty to find work and get around, as well as Les Enfants d’Afrique and Enfants du Mékong via the Uningo Foundation, two associations committed to access to education and the future of young people throughout the world. Locally, we are proud to be involved in the Corso Fleuri in Bormes-les-Mimosas and Le Lavandou (Coup de Coeur award), in conjunction with the fire brigade, to celebrate tradition while strengthening the local community fabric. Finally, we were keen to support Castel-Mauboussin, a unique initiative that puts aeronautics at the service of social issues, by offering young people in vulnerable situations a chance to surpass themselves and build cohesion through flight.

Lastly, our historic link with the Renée Sabran Hospital is an extension of this commitment. As a local player, we are keen to preserve this strong relationship and support the work of this emblematic establishment, in the service of patients’ health and well-being. These commitments reflect our deep conviction that doing something for others also means giving meaning to what we build every day.
